I’m a successful part time entrepreneur in California, but I maintain my day job because of the group health insurance they offer. I’d like to cut the apron string and go out completely on my own, but the insurance situation holds these plans hostage.
I don’t want to buy private health insurance, I would like to structure my one man business so that I can easily purchase group health insurance for myself and family. I’d like to purchase group insurance as opposed to private insurance so that I don’t have to deal with preexisting conditions and riders, etc. Since I’m still a sole proprietor, I have plenty of leeway in regards to business structure, and I’m willing to change whatever is necessary to get the best deal possible.
How can I get health insurance for myself and family and pay for it as business expense without employees?

I am thinking about becoming an insurance agent for one of the large insurers. I was wondering if insurance companies generally offer group insurance for their agents or if they consider them independents and don’t offer the coverage. What other benefits do most large insurance companies offer?

If an employer of a small corporation ( under 12 employees) pays for group insurance for himself and spouse and children that are over 25 years of age. The payments are made directly from the corporation. The children reimburse him personally for their part of the fees and he puts that reimbursement into his private account. In years past he would give each employee 215.00 to buy their own insurance. He stopped that several months ago. I guess my question is this…Is this legal under ERISA? or any other government plans?
Thanks!!

I am a recently divorced and I am looking for health insurance. A friend told me I could get it cheaper on a group policy. She said that Sam’s Club and Cosco offer group insurance to their members. What other membership companies offer group insurance?

I am employed, however i am paying my own personal health insurance instead of opting for the group insurance which my employer has since it worked out to be cheaper than group insurance. Now when i am filing my taxes can i claim medical insurance premium as tax deductible.

I was told Medicare is primary and other group insurance is secondary. Please provide information I can understand and pass on to those 65 and older and the insurance representative. Thanks in advance.

(The state of Texas part is key). My husband is self employed, the owner of a small consulting business. We will be moving to Texas very soon. Where we live currently, we have BCBS group health insurance. We would like to have BCBS Group health insurance in Texas, too, but I am not finding it. We do not want small business owner health insurance because we get a better rate with group insurance.
Please do not reply with spam. If you are an agent, that is fine, but please keep your answer relevant to my specifications.
Thank you for your help!
